Council of Elders pledges to support Lungu

Mwinilunga District Council of Elders in the North Western province has pledged to work with President Edger Lungu in ensuring that meaningful social and economic development is attained in the area.

Council of Elders Chairperson Henry Kakisa said they appreciate many developmental programs that the government is implementing in the district such as the national electricity grid connection project and welcomes the ear-marked construction of the Manyinga-JImbe road among others.

Mr Kakisa said this in a statement of solidarity to President Lungu and the Patriotic Front government made available to ZANIS in Mwinilunga today.

He said the Council of Elders will strongly support government’s effort to successfully implement the major projects and many others to come for the benefit of the local people.

Meanwhile, Mr Kakisa has commended government through the Ministry of Home Affairs for procuring a utility vehicle for the Zambia Police Service in the district.

Mr Kakisa said the move would  help the officers to operate effectively and efficiently in efforts to curb crime in the area.
