——The earth moving equipment procured by Mungwi District Council has finally arrived.

Mungwi District Council Secretary, Gladys Lilanda, told ZANIS that a grader and a tipper truck supplied by Property Masters at a total cost of K1.2 million were delivered last Saturday.

Mrs Lilanda has since expressed optimism that the newly acquired machinery would help in opening up roads in the district.

She said most feeder roads in Mungwi were in a deplorable state, adding that the procurement of the grader was long overdue.

Mrs Lilanda, however, stated that there is need for the council to purchase the remaining pieces for a full set of earth moving equipment such as a compactor and water bowzer.

The Council Secretary noted that having a complete set of the equipment would enable the local authority to do quality road works.

The grader and tipper truck were bought using part of the 2013 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
