Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo says he will not tolerate any harassment of journalists by political party cadres.
Mr. Kasolo has told Qfm News in an interview that government wants to set serous standards OF protecting journalists from harassment because they are the pillar to informing and educating the nation.
Mr. Kasolo notes government particularly finds it unfortunate that journalists have continued to suffer harassment perpetrated by political party cadres.
He has appealed to political party cadres never to dare lay their hands on journalists in the course of their duty.
Mr. Kasolo has advised that if there are any complaints against journalists the right procedure must be followed.
He says there is also need for member of the public to appreciate the work that journalists do in their respective communities.
