Isoka businessman arrested for incest
Isoka, February 27, 2015, ZANIS…Police in Isoka District of Muchinga Province have arrested a 39- year-old local businessman for allegedly having canal knowledge of his 19-year-old biological daughter.
Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka has confirmed the arrest of Collins Sichivula who has since been charged with incest.
Mr. Daka said Sichivula of Rural Compound in Isoka Township allegedly forced himself on his daughter on Tuesday this week around midnight and that the daughter reported the matter to the police the following morning.
Mr. Daka said Sichivula is currently detained in police custody and will appear in court soon.
In another development, a toddler in Rural Compound of Chinsali District has died after being chocked on the trachea by popcorn.
Father to the deceased, Maybin Mulenga, said his 4-year-old daughter, Nursemy Mulenga was eating popcorns with friends in the back yard when she got chocked and died on arrival at Chinsali District Hospital.
Mr. Mulenga told told the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) at the funeral house that they have a popcorn machine at home and Nursemy always got the snack to eat with friends around the house.
Mr. Mulenga said efforts to resuscitate Nursemy at home after she got chocked and had difficulties in breathing failed adding that the child died 30 minutes later at the hospital.
Hospital authorities told ZANIS that a foreign particle on Nursemy’s trachea blocked her from breathing normally.
Trachea is the membranous tube, reinforced by rings of cartilage, conveying air between the larynx and the bronchial tubes also known as the wind pipe.
