PATRIOTIC FRONT-PF NORTHERN PROVINCE SECRETARY, EVEREST CHELA HAS RESIGNED FROM THE GOVERNING PARTY ALONG WITH SEVERAL OFFICIALS AND MEMBERS TO JOIN NEWLY FORMED RAINBOW PARTY-RP.

Announcing his resignation yesterday at Mungwi’s Natasha Hall, Mr. Chela charged his inevitable move is due to undemocratic trends that have rocked the party after the demise of its founder President; Michael Sata.

He told the gathering that as a founder member of the PF, it pained him to see fellow founding members; such as Guy Scott, Emmanuel Chenda, Wylbur Simuusa, Miles Sampa among others either being side-lined or given deputy ministerial positions in preference to outsiders.

However, Mr. Chela who is now Rainbow Party-RP founding chairperson for Northern Province; stated that he remains a councillor for Bululu Ward.

And other officials and members who resigned from PF party to join RP accused their former party of having lost direction.

Mr. Mwiche, who is eyeing the Malole seat in the 2016 general elections, observed that the political elite in Zambia has have become the worst enemy of the people and survives for the sole purpose of enriching themselves.

He stressed that it is against this background that Rainbow Party has emerged as a unifying factor of popular masses, intellectuals, traditional leaders, religious group’s women and youths.

Mr. Mwiche, who is also former UNIP member of Central Committee, stated that once the people are united; Zambia will transform to a better place to live.

The Natasha Hall gathering was dubbed, ‘‘structural organisational launch of Rainbow Party-RP in Northern Province.’’
