TURKISH Airlines board chairman Hamdi Topcu says the airline has put Zambia as a priority on the route expansion programme to Africa and is expected to commence a direct flight between Istanbul and Lusaka soon.
This is according to a statement released by Zambia’s deputy head of mission in Turkey Bwalya Nondo yesterday.
“I would like to assure Zambians that a direct flight between the two countries will commence in due course as we attach great importance to Zambia,” Mr Topcu said.
He said this when Zambia’s ambassador to Turkey Miriam Mulenga paid a courtesy call on him at the Turkish Airlines headquarters in Istanbul yesterday.
During the inaugural flight, materials depicting Zambia’s tourism attractions will be distributed in-flight to market Zambia as a tourism destination of choice
