15 year old boy pleads not guilty to defiling a minor

Nakonde, February 19, ZANIS—A 15- year- old boy of Kayoche Village in Nakonde District in Muchinga Province yesterday pleaded not guilty in the Nakonde Magistrate Court on charges of defiling a girl below the age of 16.


Appearing before Magistrate Johnston Lukwesa was the juvenile who is also a pupil.


Particulars of the offence are that on December 28,  2014,the juvenile did have carnal knowledge of a girl below the age of 16 contrary to section 138 as amended by Act Number 2 of 2011 Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

The Juvenile however pleaded not guilty and Magistrate Lukwesa has since set March 2nd as date for commencement of trial.


Meanwhile, a 32- year- old man of Chilolwa village yesterday pleaded not guilty to trafficking in psychotropic substances contrary to section 6 of the Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance as amended by statutory number 199 of 1995 of the laws of Zambia.


Appearing before Magistrate Sikazwe was Christopher Sinyiza a business man.


Particulars of the matter are that on October 7, 2014 Sinyiza did traffic in psychotropic substances namely cannabis weighing 2.3 grams without lawful authority.


Magistrate Sikazwe has since set March 3 for as date of trial.
