The Movement for Multiparty Democracy – MMD says the appointment of its Mwandi MP MICHEAL KAINGU and his Chipangali counterpart VINCENT MWALE to Cabinet by President EDGAR LUNGU has the full blessings of the party.
MMD spokesperson RAPHEAL NAKACHINDA has told ZNBC that President LUNGU consulted party President NEVERS MUMBA on the appointment of Dr. KAINGU and Mr. MWALE.
President LUNGU has announced members of his Cabinet that included two opposition MMD lawmakers.
Meanwhile, the North Western Province Council of Elders is happy with the appointment of Zambezi West PF lawmaker CHRISTABEL NGIMBU as Lands Minister.
Council of Elders Chairperson LUKAS CHIKOTI says the appointment of Ms. NGIMBU will help bring development to the North Western Province.
Mr. CHIKOTI says the Council of Elders want Ms. NGIMBU to use her appointment to lobby for infrastructure projects such as roads and schools in the region.
And the Mine Workers Union of Zambia-MUZ- has welcomed the re-appointment of CHRISTOPHER YALUMA as Mines Minister.
MUZ General Secretary JOSEPH CHEWE has however advised Mr. YALUMA to be practical and resolve the many problems in the sector.
He said MUZ is also happy with the appointment of FACKSON SHAMENDA as Labour Minister saying the later is an experienced unionist.
