Nevers Mumba meets Edgar Lungu

–Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Spokesperson, Raphael Nakacinda, says a delegation led by President  Nevers  Mumba today met Republican President, Edgar Lungu, to discuss a wide range of governance issues with particular emphasis on the role played by former President, Rupiah Banda, in the recently held Presidential by-election on January 20, 2015.

Mr Nakachinda says matters discussed included Mr Banda’s return to active politics, his attempt to stand as MMD candidate, his participation in the Patriotic Front campaigns and other issues that have the potential to divide the nation such as the ugly head of ethnicity in politics.

He disclosed the development to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Lusaka today

Mr Nakacinda said as a party  the MMD  were considering  details of the meeting, as they continue their role of effectively providing checks and balances with a view to assist the country move forward.

He said this is the culture that the MMD wishes to encourage in Zambia.
