–Zambia Squash Association (ZSA) president, Norena Chiteba, says there is need to procure more equipment in order to advance the game of squash in the country.

Chiteba also says there is need to create an enabling environment for the game of squash by embarking on a massive rehabilitation of the dilapidated sports infrastructures across the country.

She, however, says her executive remains committed to advance, enhance, safeguard and secure the interest of the game of squash both locally and internationally with the aim of promoting the game.

ZANIS Sports reports that Chiteba said this at the just-ended Zambia Squash Association Annual General Meeting held in Lusaka over the weekend.

And Chiteba said her executive main focus for 2015 is to develop vibrant junior programmes across the country with the aim of increasing participation in squash from across the country.

Chiteba bemoaned lack of junior players playing on a regular basis in various clubs in the country due to lack of training programmes for coaches and referees.

She, however, said in order for the junior programmes to be effective and successful, more permanent coaches need to be recruited in order to create stability and consistency for training sessions.
