CHANGELIFE Zambia congratulates President Lungu

———–CHANGELIFE Zambia Board of Directors have congratulated President Edgar Lungu for winning the 20^th January 2015 Presidential by-election.

 

Board Chairman John Kasongo Chilima said the election of Mr. Lungu clearly shows that Zambians are happy with the policies of the Patriotic Front.

 

Mr. Chilima challenged the government to ensure that they fulfil promises made to voters during campaigns.

 

And CHANGELIFE Zambia is thrilled with the appointment of Inonge Wina as Vice President.

 

Mr. Chilima said that Mr. Lungu would be remembered as the first Republican President to appoint a female Vice President.

 

He said that the organisation is also aware of the suspicions of election rigging raised by some losing candidates in the just ended election.

 

Mr Chilima noted that losing candidates had their own monitors at every point and wondered at what stage figures were altered.

 

CHANGELIFE Zambia advised the losing candidates to continue providing checks and balances to the incumbent and not to be discouraged with the outcome of the election.

 

And CHANGELIFE Zambia also pleaded with the Electoral Commission of Zambia to continue with the voters sensitization programme up until the next election in 2016.
