UPND Scopes Lufwanyama and Mwinilunga East

——————-Lufwanyama District on the Copperbelt Province has concluded the counting of votes from all the 55 polling stations putting opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) ahead with 3,457 votes.

District Election Officer Henry Chawah announced that the Patriotic Front (PF) followed with 2,370 votes, Heritage Party (HP) 38, 4th Revolution Party 45, National Restoration Party (NAREP) 31 and Christian Democratic Party (CDP) 8.

 

Others are United National Independence Party (UNIP) with 41 votes, Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) 42 and Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) picked 30.

 

The Forum for Democratic Alternatives (FDA) got while the Green Party (GP) only managed 3 votes.


The total ballot papers were 6,152 and 83 were rejected.

The candidates that participated included Elias Chipimo Jr. on NAREP ticket, Nevers Mumba on the MMD ticket, Tilyenji Kaunda of UNIP and UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema.

 

The PF fielded Edgar Lungu while 4th Revolution fielded Eric Chanda and FDD had Edith Nawakwi.

 

Ludwig Sondanshi stood on the FDA ticket while Danny Pule contested on the CDP ticket and Peter Sinkamba on GP and Godfrey Miyanda on the HP respectively.

Meanwhile, opposition UPND has beaten 10 other contestants in Mwinilunga East constituency.

 

The total final results for 64 polling stations with 46,132 registered voters indicated that UPND polled 19,152 votes against its closest rival PF who got 822.

 

 Out of the 20,798 total votes cast, the 4R and UNIP both got 127, while NAREP managed 97 votes with HP and MMD settling for 7.

 

FDD picked 35 votes, CDP had 16, FDA got 16 GREENS had 11 votes.
