Lungu, HH dominate race for presidency

RESULTS from Tuesday’s presidential election are trickling in from various constituencies around the country.
The results were released by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) officials at respective constituency tallying centres.
In Lusaka Central, Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Edgar Lungu polled 15,077, UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema 9,190, MMD’s Nevers Mumba 185, NAREP’s Elias Chipimo 169, FDD’s Edith Nawakwi 135 and UNIP’s Tilyenji Kaunda 30.
Others are Heritage Party (HP)’s Godfrey Miyanda 42, Christian Democratic Party (CDP)’s Dan Pule 24, Green Party’s Peter Sinkamba 10, Forum for Democratic Alternatives (FDA)’s Ludwig Sondashi nine and Fourth Revolution (4R)’s Erick Chanda eight.
In Munali, Mr Lungu polled 27,296, Mr Hichilema 14,449, Dr Mumba 373, Ms Nawakwi 259, Mr Chipimo 200, Mr Kaunda 187, Mr Chanda 34, Dr Pule 30, Dr Sondashi 18 and Mr Sinkamba 18.
In Kabwata, Mr Lungu got 19,704, Mr Hichilema 10,069, Dr Mumba 209, Mr Chipimo 127, Ms Nawakwi 119, Gen Miyanda 36, Mr Kaunda 31, Dr Pule 13, Mr Chanda 10, Mr Sinkamba seven and Dr Sondashi five.
In Chawama, Mr Lungu polled 13,469, Mr Hichilema 6,261, Mr Kaunda 125, Dr Mumba 90, Ms Nawakwi 79, Mr Chipimo 40, Dr Sondashi 38, Dr Pule 33, Gen Miyanda 30, Mr Chanda 12 and Mr Sinkamba eight votes.
In Kanyama, Mr Lungu polled 16,838, Mr Hichilema 12,805, Dr Mumba 143, Ms Nawakwi 110, Mr Kaunda 90, Mr Chipimo 56, Mr Chanda 28, Gen Miyanda 27, Dr Pule also 27, Dr Sondashi 13 and Mr Sinkamba 10 votes.
In Matero, Mr Lungu got 28,056, Mr Hichilema 9,127, Dr Mumba 272, Ms Nawakwi 160, Mr Chipimo 109, Mr Kaunda 82, Gen Miyanda 52, Dr Sondashi 40, Dr Pule 35, Mr Chanda 25 and Mr Sinkamba 26 votes.
In Mandevu, Mr Lungu polled 29,244, Mr Hichilema 9,844, Dr Mumba 283, Ms Nawakwi 245, Mr Chipimo 167, Mr Kaunda 128, Dr Pule 62, Mr Chanda 51, Gen Miyanda 46, Dr Sondashi 28 and Mr Sinkamba 15 votes.
In Chilanga, Mr Hichilema got 6,102, Mr Lungu 4,376, Ms Nawakwi 74, Dr Mumba 48, Mr Chipimo 45, Mr Kaunda 42, Gen Miyanda 25, Dr Sondashi 24, Mr Chanda 22, Dr Pule 10 and Mr Sinkamba three votes.
In Kafue, Mr Hichilema got 8,108, Mr Lungu 7,758, Ms Nawakwi 171, Dr Mumba 142, Mr Kaunda 82, Gen Miyanda 56, Mr Chanda 52, Mr Chipimo 46, Dr Pule 29, Mr Sinkamba 11 and Dr Sondashi 10 votes.
In Chongwe, Mr Hichilema polled 7,252, Mr Lungu 6,124, Mr Kaunda 112, Ms Nawakwi 86, Dr Mumba 67, Mr Chipimo 60, Mr Chanda 55, Gen Miyanda 48, Dr Pule 25, Dr Sondashi 15 and Mr Sinkamba.
In Feira, Mr Lungu got 3,332, Mr Hichilema 751, Mr Kaunda 51, Dr Mumba 29, Mr Chanda 28, Mr Chipimo 22, Ms Nawakwi 15, Dr Pule also 15, Dr Sondashi 11, Gen Miyanda eight and Mr Sinkamba one vote.
On the Copperbelt in Ndola’s Kabushi, Mr Lungu polled 12,475 and Mr Hichilema 2,762 got votes. Kabushi has 40,442 registered voters out of which 15,798 voted.
In Ndola Central, Mr Lungu polled 12,610 while Mr Hichilema got 4,662 votes out of 18,156 votes cast. Ndola Central has 51,022 registered voters.
Mr Lungu garnered 11,294 votes in Bwana Mkubwa while Mr Hichilema got 3,038 votes out of 43,701 registered voters.
In Chifubu, Mr Lungu polled 11,817 votes while Mr Hichilema got 3,422 votes out of 42,842 registered voters.
In Mufulira’s Kantanshi, Mr Lungu polled 8,439 while Mr Hichilema was second with 1,615 votes out of 10,469 votes cast. Kantanshi has 30,613 registered voters.
In Mufulira Central, Mr Lungu got 6,755 votes while Mr Hichilema polled 1,690 out of 28,141 registered voters.
In Kankoyo, Mr Lungu polled 5,226 votes while the UPND leader got 1,271 out of 25,089 registered voters of which 7,137 cast their ballots.
And in Chingola Central and Nchanga constituencies, Mr Lungu polled a total of 23,133 while Mr Hichilema had 8,512.
Chingola and Nchanga collectively have 96,941 registered voters out of which 32,875 voted in Tuesday’s presidential election.
And Mr Lungu has scooped all the five constituencies in Kitwe. These are Nkana, Wusakile, Chimwemwe, Kwacha and Kamfinsa.
In Nkana, Mr Lungu polled 11,688 votes while Mr Hichilema got 2,829. In Kamfinsa, the PF candidate garnered 8, 983 votes and UPND had 2,381 votes. In Wusakile, Mr Lungu collected 11,551 votes and Mr Hichilema got 1,905.
In Kwacha, Mr Lungu had 14,940 votes while Mr Hichilema got 4,027 ballots. And in Chimwemwe, Mr Lungu polled 15,214 while Mr Hichilema got 3,499 votes.
In Kalulushi, Mr Lungu polled 11,371 while Mr Hichilema had 4,040 votes.
In Livingstone, Mr Hichilema got 19,125 votes followed by Mr Lungu, who polled 8,352 from 28,610 total votes cast in all 61 polling stations.
Dr Mumba got 653 votes, Ms Nawakwi 104, Mr Kaunda 89, Mr Chipimo 47, Gen Miyanda 34, Mr Chanda 30, Mr Sinkamba 24, Dr Sondashi 16 and Dr Pule 12 votes.
In Choma Central, out of the 24,745 total votes cast, Mr Hichilema had 21,921, Mr Lungu 2,139, Mr Kaunda 100, Mr Chanda 83, Mr Chipimo 66, Ms Nawakwi 61, Dr Mumba 43, Gen Miyanda 43, Mr Sinkamba 16, Dr Pule 10 and Dr Sondashi nine.
In Monze Central,  out of  23,031 votes cast in 56 polling stations, Mr Hichilema got 21,385, Mr Lungu 1,097, Ms Nawakwi 88, Mr Kaunda 78, Dr Mumba 71, Mr Chipimo 47, Mr Chanda 40, Gen Miyanda 32, Dr Pule and Dr Sondashi six apiece, and Mr Sinkamba four.
And in Mongu Central, Mr Hichilema polled 11,483, Mr Lungu 1,959, Ms Nawakwi 203, Dr Mumba 120, Mr Chipimo 33, Gen Miyanda 47, Mr Kaunda 55, Mr Chanda 18, Dr Sondashi 17, Dr Pule seven and Mr Sinkamba got two votes.
In Lundazi Central in Eastern Province, Mr Lungu polled 8,779, Mr Hichilema 2,972, Ms Nawakwi 375, Mr Kaunda 269, Mr Chanda 239, Gen Miyanda 116, Dr Mumba 104, Dr Pule 100, Mr Chipimo 97, Dr Sondashi 68 and Mr Sinkamba grabbed 41 votes.
In Chasefu, Mr Lungu polled 5,001, Mr Hichilema 1,974, Ms Nawakwi 312, Mr Kaunda 187, Mr Chanda 181, Dr Mumba 84, Mr Chipimo 71, Gen Miyanda 60, Dr Sondashi 45, Dr Pule 40 and Mr Sinkamba 16.
In Chipata Central, Mr Lungu polled 10,883, Mr Hichilema 3,228, Ms Nawakwi 210, Mr Kaunda 111, Dr Mumba 76, Gen Miyanda 45, Mr Chipimo 40, Mr Chanda 38, Dr Pule 36, Dr Sondashi 16 and Mr Sinkamba nine.
In Chipangali, Mr Lungu got 2,704 while Mr Hichilema got 180 votes. In Mkaika, Mr Lungu amassed 4,051 against the UPND leader’s 27 votes.
In Chadiza, Mr Lungu got 2,927 and Mr Hichilema 2,392.
In Kasama Central, Mr Lungu had 11,544 votes against Mr Hichilema’s 3,465. Ms Nawakwi got 138, Dr Mumba 105, Gen Miyanda 49, Mr Kaunda 46, Mr Chanda 33, Mr Chipimo 30, Dr Pule 28, Mr Sinkamba 17 and Dr Sondashi got six votes.
In Mbala Central, Mr Lungu garnered 6,727 against Mr Hichilema’s 1,430 votes. Ms Nawakwi had 121, Mr Kaunda 90, Mr Chanda 81, Mr Sinkamba 54, Dr Mumba 49, Gen Miyanda 48, Dr Pule 30, Mr Chipimo 29 and Dr Sondashi 15.
In Mumbwa, Mr Hichilema polled 7,597, Mr Lungu 1,392, Mr Kaunda 57, Ms Nawakwi 38, Dr Mumba 34, Mr Chanda 28, Mr Chipimo 26, Gen Miyanda 23, Dr Sondashi eight, Dr Pule seven and Mr Sinkamba three votes. A total of 9,332 ballot papers were cast, out of which 119 were rejected.
In Kabwe Central, Mr Lungu polled 11,763, Mr Hichilema 4,957, Dr Mumba 178, Ms Nawakwi 151, Mr Kaunda 62, Gen Miyanda 47, Mr Chipimo 45, Dr Pule 36, Mr Chanda 28, Dr Sondashi 15 and Mr Sinkamba 12.
In Bwacha, Mr Lungu polled 8,182, Mr Hichilema 2,682, Dr Mumba 209, Ms Nawakwi 82, Mr Kaunda 61, Gen Miyanda 26, Mr Chipimo 24, Dr Pule 37, Mr Chanda 24, Dr Sondashi 12 and Mr Sinkamba eight.
In Mpika Central in Muchinga Province, Mr Lungu obtained 7,204 while Mr Hichilema polled 572.
Dr Sondashi and Mr Sinkamba got two votes each, Mr Chipimo nine, Gen Miyanda 14, Dr Pule 25, Mr Kaunda 27, Mr Chanda 29, Ms Nawakwi 51 and Dr Mumba 66 votes.
In Nakonde, Mr Lungu polled 6,693, Mr Hichilema 1,370, Ms Nawakwi 384, Dr Mumba 190, Mr Kaunda 69, Mr Chanda 68, Dr Pule 40, Mr Chipimo 27, Gen Miyanda 28, Mr Sinkamba 21 and Dr Sondashi got 11 votes.
In Nchelenge in Luapula Province, Mr Lungu obtained 9,112 votes, Mr Hichilema 952, Mr Chanda 50, Ms Nawakwi 48, Dr Mumba 44, Mr Kaunda 44, Gen Miyanda 24, Mr Chipimo 24, Dr Pule 41, Dr Sondashi 12 and Mr Sinkamba six votes. There were 58,174 registered voters and 129 ballots were rejected.
In Mambilima, Mr Lungu had 3,714 votes, Mr Hichilema 568, Dr Mumba 120, Mr Kaunda 17, Mr Chanda 16, Gen Miyanda 11, Dr Pule 11, Mr Chipimo eight, Mr Nawakwi also eight while Mr Sinkamba and Dr Sondashi got three votes each.
In Mwense, Mr Lungu had 5,340 votes, Mr Hichilema 1,055, Dr Mumba 69, Mr Kaunda 25, Mr Chanda 24, Gen Miyanda 13, Dr Pule 12, Ms Nawakwi nine, Dr Sondashi also nine, Mr Chipimo eight and Mr Sinkamba four votes.
In Kawambwa, Mr Lungu polled 5,133, Mr Hichilema 374, Dr Mumba 342, Ms Nawakwi 284, Mr Chanda 32, Mr Kaunda 32, Dr Pule 27, Mr Chipimo 17, Gen Miyanda 12, Mr Sinkamba three and Dr Sondashi two votes.
In Bahati, Mr Lungu got 7,278 votes and Mr Hichilema 876. In Mansa Central, Mr Lungu polled 10,631 while Mr Hichilema had 1,278 votes.
In Chinsali, Mr Lungu got 8,622 votes, Mr Hichilema had 381, Dr Mumba 198, Mr Chipimo 100, Mr Chanda 44, Dr Pule 41, Mr Kaunda 40, Gen Miyanda 26, Ms Nawakwi 18, Mr Sinkamba four and Dr Sondashi eight votes.
Counting of votes in other constituencies has continued and more results will be announced today.
