Lusaka Central completes vote counting

Counting of votes for Lusaka Central Constituency for  the 2015 Presidential elections has been completed.

 

Lusaka Central Constituency Returning officer Mudala Mwiche  announced  that Edgar Lungu of the Patriotic Front polled 15,077 votes against his closest rival  Hakainde Hichilema of the United Party for National Development who got  9,190 votes while Nevers Mumba of the MMD polled 195 votes.

 

Mr. Mwiche announced that NAREP’s Elias Chipimo got 169 votes while Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) candidate Edith Nawakwi polled 135 votes with  Godfrey Miyanda of the Heritage party getting 42 votes.

 

He further announced that UNIP’S Tilenji Kaunda polled 30 votes, while Dan Pule of the Christian Democratic Party (CDP) got 24 votes, Peter Sinkamba of the Green Party 24 votes, Forum for Democratic Alternatives(FDA)’s Ludwig  Sondashi  got 9 votes while the Forth Revolution Party candidate Erick Chanda polled 8 votes.

 

The number of rejected ballot papers for the constituency was 145.

 

Lusaka Central constituency has a total number of 60,099 registered voters.
