ECZ employs ZAF helicopters to collect results in Malole constituency

—————-The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ)  has sent  a Zambia Air Force-ZAF helicopter to airlift election results from inaccessible areas in Mungwi in Malole constituency.

 

Mungwi District Electoral officer, Gladys Lilanda has confirmed the development to ZANIS in Mungwi today.

 

Mrs. Lilanda disclosed that the ZAF chopper will collect election results from Mankungu in Mpanda ward and Kawanga in Lubala ward.

 

Other areas are Mumba and Bwebe in Chambeshi ward.

 

The four areas have become inaccessible by road due to floods and bad road network.

 

Meanwhile, election results have so far been received from 46 polling stations in Malole Constituency.

 

The results for the 46 polling stations are being received and announced by Returning Officer Lewis Kwenda.

 

So far PF’s Edgar Lungu has got 8,006 votes out of 9,853 cast.

 

Mr. Lungu is followed by UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema who polled 1,231 votes.

 

Nawikwi Edith of FDD has so far received 229 votes.

 

MMD’s Nevers Mumba got 119 votes and Eric Chanda of 4th revolution polled 39 votes out of the 46 polling stations.

 

UNIP’s Tilyenji Kaunda has received 37 votes while Heritage Party’s Godfrey Miyanda has polled 35.

 

CDP’s Daniel Pule has polled 34 votes while NAREP’s Elias Chipimo Jr. has received 32 votes.

 

Ludwig Sondashi has polled 12 votes and Green Party’s Peter Sinkamba has so far polled 4 votes.

 

75 ballot papers have been rejected.

 

Malole constituency has 58, 686 registered voters.
