UNIP presidential candidate Tilyenji Kaunda has pledged to distribute free fertiliser and seed to farmers once voted into office on Tuesday.
Mr Kaunda said farmers have been neglected in the past 23 years by the MMD and the Patriotic Front governments.
He was speaking when he addressed a rally at Nabvutika Market in Chipata on Friday.

He said farmers have to wait for their payments for a long time, a situation which will change once he is voted into power.
Mr Kaunda said UNIP will also revamp the education and health sectors.
To give an opportunity to every Zambian to attain an education, Mr Kaunda said free education will be offered from primary to university level.
Mr Kaunda said once UNIP forms government, it will create employment for the youth.
