Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication Yamfwa Mukanga has called on the church in Zambia to continue preaching against evil acts which are happening in the country.

Mr. Mukanga said there were many evil activities happening in the country which require the church’s intervention.

He said this today during the United Church of Zambia’s (UCZ) fiftieth year jubilee symposium celebrations in Lusaka.

Mr. Mukanga also said it was cardinal for the church in Zambia work closely with the government of the day to uplift the living standards of citizens apart from preaching the word of God.

The minister has meanwhile praised the UCZ for the services it has continued to render in the education and health sectors in the country.

And United Church of Zambia Synod Bishop Mutale Mulumbwa urged the church to continue preaching the word of God and peace in the country.

Bishop Mulumbwa said peace was paramount especially this time around when Zambia is preparing to hold a presidential election.

He stated that the UCZ will not relent in the area of spreading the word of God and preaching the much cherished peace in Zambia.
