ACC nabs four Chinese nationals for alleged corrupt practices

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Lusaka has arrested four Chinese nationals for alleged corrupt practices involving K100, 000.

 

The quartets are employees of Tiang Mining Zambia Limited.

 

ACC Public Relations Manager (PRM) Timothy Moono has confirmed in a statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today.

 

Mr. Moono identified the suspects Tiang Mining Zambia Limited Director a Mr. Yin, Xian Zan, a Sales Manager, Wang, a Quarry Manger and Cherry Xu, an Interpreter.

 

Mr. Moono said the four were apprehended at Makeni Shopping mall during a sting operation after they gave a bribe of K100,000 to Shimabala Farming Community Chairperson with intent to allow the Chinese firm to conduct quarry activities.

 

He said the suspects are currently detained in custody at a named police station and they will appear in court on January 12, 2015.
