Residents of Kazungula district have condemned the political violence that is being perpetrated by some political party cadres in the country ahead of January 20, 2015  Presidential elections.

And residents of Sikaunzwe who sought anonymity have expressed disappointment with some Patriotic Front (PF) cadres who have continued to harass United Party for National Development (UPND) cadres.

They said the presidential elections slated for January 20, 2015 may not be free and fair if the violence is left unchecked.

They added that Zambia is a Christian nation and it is unfortunate that some political party leaders were tolerating such behaviour from their cadres as they have not taken any action.

Meanwhile, Nyawa residents have called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to adequately publicize the January 20, 2015 presidential byelection to avoid voter apathy.

Speaking to ZANIS in an interview in Nyawa recently, one of the residents Kenny Miyoba said people in the area appreciate the voter education being conducted by representatives of ECZ.
