The Zambian Kwacha closed the year 2014 trading around K6.385 to K6.405 against the United States dollar (US$).

Standard Chartered Bank daily brief for today, January 5, 2015 indicated that trading was a bit subdued last week as most market players were on industrial break.

The bank stated that short term view for the US dollar and Kwacha pair is still biased towards a weaker local currency.

This is according to the commercial bank’s daily brief made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
