–Northern Province Provincial Social Welfare Officer, Marshall Mweembani, has assured that his ministry is determined to improve child care facilities in the region.
Mr Mweembani said government is to address some of the challenges that children face in children’s homes.
He said this in an interview with ZANIS today.
The Provincial Social Welfare Officer said it is imperative that child care providers are sensitised and equipped with guidelines to deliver quality services in line with national obligations.
Mr Mweembani said his department will also embark on sensitizing communities in recognising the needs of vulnerable children.
He said the department will also increase monitoring and evaluation activities of family support to ensure quality service delivery.
Mr. Mweembani further urged all child care service providers to make sure they adhere to acceptable standards of child care.
