Scott pledges infrastructure development

Ndola, January 2, 2015, ZANIS–Acting President Guy Scott said government is committed to ensuring that bridges are constructed at all crossing points that pose a threat to the people.

 

Dr. Scott said government remains resolute to ensuring that infrastructure such as bridges and roads are constructed in all parts of the country.

 

He said for the past three years, government through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) has managed to construct bridges at all crossing points that were a danger to the people.

 

Dr. Scott also said government has made tremendous progress in responding to the social needs of the people in the country particularly in rural areas.

 

The Acting President said this when he toured the newly constructed Kantolomba bride on the Kafubu river in Ndola today.

 

And Bwana Mkubwa Member of Parliament Emmanuel Chenda disclosed that the bridge was constructed at a cost of K530, 000.

 

Mr. Chenda praised government for responding to the needs of the people in Kantolomba and Chichele wards of his constituency.

 

He said he bridge will now lessen the burden of school going children from the two places who have in the past been faced with challenges of crossing the Kafubu river.

 

The Acting President is on a working visit on the Copperbelt.
