Acting President Guy Scott has disclosed that government was holding discussions with all mining firms on the prudent utilisation of profits from mining activities.

Dr. Scott said government wants to ensure that all profits gained from different mining activities in the country benefit both the mine owners and the workers.

He has since urged mine owners to cooperate with government in its quest to ensure that there is improved service delivery in the mining sector.

Dr. Scott said this when he addressed a rally at Lubelenga grounds in Chililabombwe district today.

And the Acting President has urged the people of Chililabombwe to vote for the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Edgar Lungu in the January 20, 2015 presidential elections in order to maintain continuity of developmental projects in the country.

Speaking at the same rally, Mufulira Member of Parliament (MP) Yamfwa Mukanga said the PF was the only party that knows the problems affecting all Zambians hence its programme of embarking on various projects to develop the whole country.

And Roan MP Chishimba Kambwili said the construction of a district hospital, a youth resource centre and the upgrading of roads in Chililabombwe district was a clear testimony of government’s commitment to improving the lives of people in the district.

Mr. Kambwili said the PF was the only party that still has a majority following and urged the people of Chililabombwe to remain strong, consistent and not allow themselves to be cheated by any opposition political party leader.

The rally was also attended by Nchanga MP Wilbur Simuusa, Chililabombwe MP Esther Banda, PF Secretary General Davis Chama and several other senior party officials.
