Funding to Kasama General Hospital priority- Northern Minister

———–Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe has assured that government will prioritize funding to Kasama General Hospital in 2015 to enhance quality healthcare.

 

Mr. Sikazwe said it is important that the hospital receives adequate funding to ensure that health workers are well motivated and service delivery is up to date.

 

Mr. Sikazwe said this today at Kasama General Hospital when he presented gifts to Christmas babies.

 

He urged pregnant women to always go to hospital for delivery in order to reduce on maternal mortality.

 

Mr. Sikazwe said government’s priority is to make sure expectant mothers and their babies receive good medical attention at various health facilities.

 

The Northern Province Minister further advised hospital management to ensure that the reinstated nurses start work as soon as possible.

 

And Kasama General Hospital Medical Superintendent Elijah Mutoloki said the hospital has recorded three Christmas babies.

 

Dr. Mutoloki said all the Christmas babies are girls and are in good health.

 

He thanked the Provincial Minister and his delegation for presenting gifts to the Christmas babies.
