Forum for Democratic Process  (FODEP) Northern Province coordinator Martin Mumbo says political parties should focus on issue based campaigns.

Mr. Mumbo said politicians should tell electorates developmental projects that they will bring in their respective communities come January 20, 2015.

He said this in an interview with ZANIS in Kasama today.

The FODEP coordinator said politicians should base their campaigns on real issues that will make them earn votes from electorates than insulting and demonizing each other.

He appealed to politicians to stop politics of appeasement and give people real promises.

He said the electorates ought to know what the politicians are going to do for them and the important policies they would implement once in power.

Mr. Mumbo urged politicians to conduct peaceful campaigns and desist from inciting violence ahead of the January 20 presidential by-election.
