Police in Namwala apprehend Cattle rustlers

————————Police in Namwala District have arrested two men for being in possession of 16 herds of cattle bearing assorted brand marks believed to have been stolen.


After a tip off from the Kabulamwanda ward anti stock theft, the Police followed the two who were driving the cattle towards the Kafue river.

 

The two suspects, Frank Kazovo aged 23 of Mweeme village and  Oscar Shimunza aged 25 of Mwachiso village are both from Chief Mungaila’s Chiefdom in Namwala district.


Namwala Police Officer in Charge Kingsley Lwaano told ZANIS that the brand marks on the animals are KR53, 82ND, JH72, NC77 among others.


The two are currently detained at Namwala Police Station and will soon appear before Namwala magistrate court.


Namwala Police have since appealed to those missing cattle of the said brand marks to contact the nearest police station.


The Police have further appealed to cattle owners to be on the alert saying cattle rustlers are on rampage during this season.

 

Meanwhile, the Police in Namwala have appealed to residents to report any suspicious transfer of cattle from within or outside Namwala to any nearest police station.
