Kapiri Mposhi, December 16, ZANIS ——————–A 20-year-old woman of Fichisa Village in Senior Chief Chipepo’s area in Kapiri Mposhi district is appearing in Kapiri Mposhi Magistrate Court for allegedly defiling and infecting a 15 year old boy with a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD).

Before Kapiri Mposhi Magistrate, Ackson Mumba was Ngandwe Phiri, a mother of three who is charged with one count of having canal knowledge of the boy under the age of 16.

It is alleged that Ngandwe had canal knowledge of the boy who is a grade eight pupil of the same village on 1st October 2014 after intoxicating him with beer.

This is contrary to section 138(1) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 as amended by Act Number 15 of 2005 and amendment number 2 of 2011 of the Laws o Zambia.

Ngandwe pleaded not guilty to the charge but admitted to having canal knowledge of the minor arguing that the minor consented to have sexual intercourse with her in the nearby bush after the two drunk some beer.

But the minor narrated how Ngandwe repeatedly told him that he was handsome and made him drink some beer on the fateful day before forcing herself on him in the nearby bush around 21:00 hours.

He said after the encounter Ngandwe ordered him not to tell anyone about what had happened.

The minor told the court that he was however forced to disclose the incident to his parents five days later after noticing that he had developed sores on his private parts.

And the parents of the minor narrated that the boy was taken to the police station where a police medical report was issued which was later taken to Kapiri Mposhi District Hospital where the child was examined and diagnosed with an STD.

Ngandwe was arrested on 25th November, 2014 and charged with one count of defilement contrary to the laws of Zambia.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Mumba has adjourned the matter to 26th December for continuation of trial.

The accused is in police custody after she failed to raise K600 for bail granted.
