United States Ambassador to Zambia Eric Schultz says his government is ready to work with the Zambian government to promote business opportunities in the country.
Mr. Schultz says his government wants to see more of American companies opening up and participating in the growing economies of African countries such as Zambia.
He said this during the official opening of Pizza Hut, a globally famous American company at Great East Mall.
Mr. Schultz hoped that Zambia can become a regional hub for Pizza Hut and many other American companies that ere yet to explore the African market.
And Dagon Holding Managing Director, Stefano Benedikter said Dagon, the company which runs Pizza Hut, has currently employed 40 people and targets to employ about 1,350 people in the next five years.
Mr. Benedikter said plans are also under way to open up six more stores in Zambia next year.
He said Zambia is the second country to South Africa to be part of the business that operates in 93 countries globally.
