———-The Kalulushi Municipal Council has collected over seven hundred thousand Kwacha from the sale of plots in Kalulushi’s prime area.

The 92 of the 420 plots have so far been sold leaving a balance of 382.

Kalulushi Town Clerk Josephine Simwinga confirmed this in an interview in Kalulushi District, today.

Mrs. Simwinga said the project was aimed at empowering citizens with descent accommodation.

She said that the funds which would enhance the delivery of social services in the district had also boosted the revenue base for the Council.

Meanwhile, the Council has spent over four hundred and fifty one thousand Kwacha on the implementers of poverty alleviation projects at community level.

She told a Full Council meeting in Kalulushi that the funds were part of the 2013 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Mrs. Simwinga said the local authority had also completed the street lighting project under CDF in Eucalyptus Street.

Other projects included the construction of a 1 by 2 class room block and VIP toilets at Musakashi Primary School and rehabilitation of other schools.

The Full Council was attended by stakeholders, business people, the church mother bodies and Council management.
