Lusaka, December 2,—The Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) has officially launched the online licensing system for three licenses.

The three licenses that will be accessible online for application are the radio spectrum license, dealers’ registration license, numbers and domain name licenses.
Speaking during the launch in Lusaka today, ZICTA Director General Margaret Mudenda said the system was an effective and efficient manner which will benefit information communication technology (ICT) consumers and service providers.

Ms. Mudenda also said the system will greatly benefit end users by substituting physical applications especially for people from far places across the country.
In a speech read on her behalf by Director of Technology and Engineering Patrick Mutimushi, Ms. Mudenda added that the licensing system was further aimed at enhancing service delivery by ZICTA in an effective and efficient manner.
She noted that the online licensing system will enable applicants to track the progress of their applications at their convenient time thereby reducing on other expenses.

And Ms. Mudenda said ZICTA was over whelmed with the number of licenses being processed so far.
She said this development was a clear indication of the accelerated ICT development in the country.
