SCOTT REFUSES TO ATTEND CONFERENCE – ELECTIONS WILL GO AHEAD -INONGE WINA
POSTION OF PRESIDENT FORMALLY DECLARED VACANT- NATIONAL COUNCIL
PF Chairperson Inonge Wina has announced that she had just held a meeting with Acting President Dr. Guy Scott to join the General Conference but he had declined.
She stated that although she is aware of the provisions of the party which recognises what was being done was legal, she felt that Dr. Scott should have found it within his heart to attend the meeting and lead it in honour of President Michael Sata.
She stated that the meeting would however go ahead.

She also disclosed that the National Council resolved that Hon Edgar Lungu was named as the prefered candidate.
The National Council accepted the nominations of other candidates and forwarded the names to the General Conference .
She has called for the elections to be held.
Ms Wina has advised that only delegates verified and accredited as earlier directed would vote.

Mrs. Wina called Mr. Tutwa Ngulube a lawyer elected as Returning Officer by the Central Committee to conduct the poll.
The General Conference rejected the call by Acting President, Dr. Guy Scott to have the poll conducted at King George 7 km away from Mulungushi Rock of Authority.
