—–Chibolya Primary School Deputy Head-teacher, Jane Phiri, says libraries play as catalysts in education and performance of learners academically.

Ms Phiri says pupils are motivated when library facilities are at their disposal.

She regretted that her school, Chibolya Primary School situated in town, is a victim of lack of a library.

Ms Phiri was speaking last evening during a Charity Art Exhibition Auction organized by the Lusaka Ladies Circle Number-two.

The funds realised will go towards purchasing new books and other educational related items for the library at Chibolya Primary School.

About K20,000 in cash and pledges were raised at the art exhibition auction towards the noble cause.

Ms Phiri commended Lusaka Ladies Circle Number-two for the initiative, saying the  gesture would go a long way towards the project in helping both pupils and teachers to utilise the library at the institution.

She appealed to other organisations to demonstrate their social corporate responsibility by ploughing back to the communities they serve.

And Zambia’s renowned artist, Zenzele Zulu, expressed gratitude that artistic works were being appreciated by both Zambians and other foreign nationals.

Zulu observed that most Zambian artists have created jobs for other people because the industry was thriving not only in Zambia but on the globe.
