Construction of fuel depots on course

Government says it is committed to ensuring that state of the art fuel depots are constructed in all the provincial centers in the country.

 

Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water Development Deputy Minister Charles Zulu said the move is aimed at ensuring that the country attains a uniform fuel pricing.

 

Mr Zulu said government has already constructed fuel depots in Lusaka, Mpika and Mongu while construction of the fuel depot in Solwezi has commenced.

 

The Deputy Minister further said government has made a policy of allocating funds for the construction of two filling stations each year for members of the community.

 

ZANIS Reports that Mr Zulu said this in Lusaka today during the official opening of Total Parkways filling station.

 

And Mr Zulu said Zambia has huge potential for solar energy in the region due to its abundant resources.

 

And speaking earlier, Total Zambia Managing Director Damien Ricour –Dumas praised government for creating a conducive business environment.

 

Mr Ricour-Dumas said his firm will next year roll out a construction project of solar filling stations across the country.
