CIVIL SOCIETY GROUP REPORTS MASEBO TO POLICE FOR CONDUCTING SECRET REGISTRATION
Speech for Growth, Executive Director Wallace Kalungu has reported PF Chairperson for Elections Sylvia Masebo and Minister of Local Government and PF Treasurer Emmanuel Chenda to the Police for allegedly conducting illegal accreditation of PF delegates to the General Conference.
Mr. Kalungu exposed the scheme last night and stated that the illegal accreditation of delegates has been going on since last saturday.
Yesterday, PF officials intercepted a bus a Mahogany Bus from Southern Province at Lusaka Down Town and another Zambia -Malawi at InterCity Bus Terminus.
This morning a bus, Peace Soldiers allegedly organised by Luapula Chairperson, Nixon Chilangwa was also intercepted.

Mr. Kalungu informed officers at Service Headquarters that Mrs. Masebo was now transporting purported delegates to Kabwe after their registration is complete.
Below is the full statement

SYLVIA MASEBO CONDUCTING SECRET REGISTRATION AND ACCREDITATION
24TH NOVEMBER 2014

We wish to expose a secret registration and accreditation of delegates that is taking place.

Buses carrying purported delegates have been arriving from the provinces since Saturday and are reporting to the Minister of Local Government, and PF Treasurer, Emmanuel Chenda where money for accommodation and allowances are being given.

The delegates are then being whisked away by PF Central Committee Chairperson for Elections, Sylvia Masebo. Ms Masebo is taking them to a place we shall expose, where they are conducting a secret accreditation which is forming the official delegates list for the General Conference.

We witnessed firsthand, Delegates from Southern Province travelling in the Mahogany Bus where last evening caught, exposed and beaten by rival group at Lusaka’s Downtown Shopping Complex.

And we witnessed a second incidence where the Zambia-Malawi Bus from Eastern Province purported 30 delegates arrived at 17hrs at Inter City.

We are deeply concerned that the activities by the two ministers to conduct secret registration and accredit delegates without the approval of the PF Central Committee is recipe for instability, violence and a break down law and order.
We urge the Police to immediately investigate this matter and if possible arrest the two PF Senior Officials for engaging in activities that can destabilize the country.
We also call upon the Acting President, Dr. Guy Scott to ensure that he promotes democracy, transparency, and openness in the process of electing a PF Presidential candidate as NOT doing so will plunge the country into chaos and instability.
We urge leaders in the PF to ensure that the successful and chosen candidate is one popular within the party and stands a chance of winning them the presidential by-election

WALLACE KALUNGU
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
SPEECH FOR GROWTH
