The PF in Kasama says it will NOT support Edgar Lungu if he is adopted by the party’s central committee as a sole candidate for the January 20 Presidential election.
Party Kasama Central Constituency Chairperson Fidelis Chishoma told mano news last evening that the central committee comprising about 25 members cannot speak on behalf of the entire party leadership.
Mr Chishoma who is also Lukulu Ward Councilor said the party in Kasama is in support of the holding of a general conference as a means of electing a party president.
And commenting on the suspension of Guy Scot as party interim president, Mr Chishoma said those behind his suspension have a hidden agenda.
He added that Guy Scot has been discharging his duties in accordance with the party constitution.
• Yesterday, the Patriotic Front-PF Central Committee suspended Acting President Guy Scott from the party with immediate effect.
reading out the letter of suspension, Isoka Member of Parliament Malozo Sichone said Dr Scott has been suspended for unconstitutional acts and usurping the powers of the highest organ of the ruling PF Central Committee by making unilateral decisions.
But PF secretary general Atanga dismissed the pronouncements saying it has no merit or effect.
