Seventy MPs have called for suspension of PF Party President Guy Scott for making unilateral decisions, and say they will only go to the general conference if the central committee agrees.

Dr Scott yesterday elevated Bridget Atanga to position of Party Secretary General, and appointed Lusaka Lawyer Anthony Kasolo as her deputy.

But the MPs who are backing Mr Edgar Lungu to be president of the party, say they are aggrieved and have accused Dr Scott of taking away the powers of the central committee.

The PF MPs’ who include, some from the MMD and UPND are now that the Central Committee should discipline Dr Scott to restore unity in the party.

Spokesperson of the MPs Maloze Sichone announced their demands at a press briefing in Lusaka this morning, which was also attended by sympathizers of Mr Lungu.

And the MP’S have maintained that, Mr Lungu, who is Justice and Defense minister is still Secretary General, until the party has a presidential candidate.

Meanwhile the MPs have announced that they will leave for their respective constituencies today, to begin campaigning for Mr Lungu for the forthcoming Presidential elections.
