Erratic water supply in Mwinilunga to normalise soon- Mate

Mwinilunga, November 21,2014, ZANIS —-   Mwinilunga district Commissioner Irene Mate has appealed to the residents to be calm and patient following erratic power and water supply the area.

 

Mrs Mate says her office is aware of how the development has impacted and affected operations of business houses and government institutions in the district.

 

Bu she was quick to assure residents in the area that the challenge will be addressed soon.

 

The district Commissioner was speaking in Mwinilunga district today when she visited the Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation (ZESCO) power house.

 

Mrs Mate disclosed that government through ZESCO will next month procure a brand new generator-set which she said will help eradicate intermittent power supply in the district while waiting to be connected to the national electricity power grid.

 

Mwinilunga district in North-western province depends on diesel generated power supply and the area has been experiencing erratic power supply due to regular break down of the machines.

 

The situation has also lead to erratic water supply in the area.
