Villager mauled by a crocodile in Kalabo District

 

ZANIS, Kalabo, November 20, 2014, ZANIS —-   A 36-year-old man has been killed by a crocodile in Kalabo District.

 

 

Area Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) Operations Ranger Safely Mulala confirmed the development to ZANIS in an interview in an interview, today.

 

 

He named the deceased as Muhalu Muhalu of Ikatulamwa village in Chief Imbwayi’s area of Kalabo District.

 

 

Mr. Muhalu narrated that the beast attacked the man and ate his body parts leaving him with a collar bone and left arm.

 

 

The incident happened yesterday evening at the time he was taking a bath on the banks of the Zambezi River.

 

 

ZAWA has since sent officers to the area to kill the beast as it has become a public nuisance.

 

 

Mr Muhalu becomes the fifth person to be attacked and killed by a crocodile in the same area this year alone.
