Govt releases K975, 000 for palace construction in Northwest
Solwezi, November 18th, 2014, ZANIS —- Government has released nine hundred and seventy five thousand (K975, 000) for the construction of three chiefs palaces in North western province.
ZANIS reports that Provincial Chiefs and traditional affairs officer NAMUSHI NJEKWA confirmed the development in an interview in Solwezi District, today.
He said that the department has received funds and guidelines for construction of three palaces.
Mr. Njekwa said the three palaces to be constructed are for Senior Kalilele in Solwezi East, Chieftainess Ikeleng’i of Ikeleng’i Districts and Chieftainess Kucheka in Zambezi West bank of Zambezi District.
He said the process of tendering for the construction of palaces has commenced and works are expected to start in the three chiefdoms soon.
The construction and rehabilitation of chiefs’ palaces is a countrywide programme which will be done in phases and the three palaces are in the first phase
