ZAFFICO embarks on plantation programme.

Shiwang`andu, November 14, 2014. ZANIS… The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation (ZAFFICO) will soon embark on a tree plantation programme in Mukwikile village in Shiwang`andu district of Muchinga province.

ZAFFICO Acting Chief Human Resource Officer Terence Musa disclosed this development in an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) soon after paying a courtesy call at the District Commissioner’ office yesterday.

Mr. Musa said that the forestry plantation programme will be launched next month on 19 December 2014 and that about 60 hectors of land had been cleared in readiness to start planting the seedlings in view of the on-set of the rains.

Mr Musa said  ZAFFICO has created over 180 jobs for the youths in Shiwang`andu through the forest plantation programme.

And representing  Shiwang`andu District Commissioner  Moses Katebe, District Administrative Officer  Stephen Mulenga commended the ZAFFICO organizing committee for embarking on the plantation exercise in the district.
