The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has charged that late President Michael Sata has been vindicated when he referred to his Ministers and Members of Parliament as useless following their failure to resolve their wrangles.
And the UPND National Management Committee and all UPND MPs have endorsed UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema as the sole candidate for the party in the forthcoming presidential by-election.
Speaking during a press briefing at the UPND Secretariat this morning, UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango says Zambia is yearning for a leadership that the PF has failed to give to the people.
Ms Nalumango says Zambians should understand that the PF has no capacity to providing the missing leadership in the country.
She says late President Sata knew all his ministers and MPs and knew that no one has wisdom to move the country forward.
Ms Nalumango says the late President openly addressed them as useless because they fail to reason accordingly.
Speaking at the same event, UPND Vice President for Politics Canisius Banda says Zambia expects a new crop of leadership.
Dr. Banda states that it is written on the walls that Mr. Hichilema will be Zambian’s sixth president considering that the people cannot once again vote on experimental basis.
And Dr. Banda has warned that the opposition will not hesitate to carry out citizens arrest on any individuals who will be found using government machinery during campaigns apart from Acting President Dr. Guy Scott.
And Political Activist Dante Saunders took advantage of the event to urge the UPND that if they are voted into office and fail to fulfill their promises, he will personally de-campaign them like he has been de-campaigning the PF.
