ACTING President Guy Scott has held a press briefing at which he says the Patriotic Front will hold a national conference to select a Presidential candidate.
Earlier this morning the PF national chairperson Inonge Wina received a petition from 63 PF MPs and senior party members urging the adoption of PF secretary general Edgar Lungu as the party candidate for the upcoming Presidential elections.
Dr Scott says the actions by the central committee members goes against the PF constitution.

@isaac That one is already clear but the issue to me is on the candidate. I personally had Given L in my mind. Unfortunately lubinda under the current constitution does not qualify just like guy scott. Mulenga Sata is too young also. Talk of kambwili, personally i have alot of question marks about kambwili. Kambwili just makes a good cabinet minister and a member of parliament at the moment. Unless you have someone whom you think can make a good president.
He qualities.The allows him to act as president that means he qualifies.

@isaac, very are healthy amongst our politicians. Who do you have in mind who can make a good president in PF? The opposition are already campagning. Convention is good but costly

Iwe we musungu iwe! Please we dont have time to waste. We also dont have money to hold a convention please grow my man. Lungu is one of the best candidates in PF. And we want him. We will give him our votes
