Government’s Restriction on Sata Burial Coverage Angers MISA

The Media Institute of Southern Africa MISA has questioned the criteria used by government to only allow Journalists from Ten local media institutions to cover President Michael Sata’s burial at Embassy Park on Tuesday.
MISA Zambia Chairperson Hellen Mwale says the restrictions imposed on the media shows that the Patriotic Front-PF government is unwilling to work with the private media.
She says what is shocking is the fact that these restrictions have been imposed on the media now when the president is about to be put to rest.
On Saturday, Information Permanent Secretary Bert Mushala stated that the move was aimed at avoiding overcrowding at the burial.
