Suspected Angolan found died

Mongu, Nov 6, 2014, ZANIS ——- Police in Mongu district of Western Province have picked-up a dead body of a male adult suspected to be an Angolan national.

ZANIS reports that police found the body near the Mongu Main Post Office.

Western Province Police Commissioner Lombe Kamukoshi confirmed the development this morning adding that the body was found lying by the road side yesterday by passers-by who later reported to the Police.

Ms. Kamukoshi disclosed that the Police inspected the body of the victim who was only identified as Mario and was found with some cuts on the back of the head.

She further said that the cause of the death was not yet established but suspected to have been due to over-drinking of alcohol adding that one person amongst those who identified him stated that the deceased was last night seen heavily drunk.

However, the Police Commissioner was quick to say that Police have opened an inquiry to ascertain the real cause of the death of the victim.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased is currently lying in Lewanika General Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem and burial.
