——-The Mitete district administration says it has received the death of the late President Michael Sata with shock and sadness.

Mitete District Commissioner, Teddy Chimbinde, says the district mourns together with the nation the death of the late President because of developmental projects that came in the area under his leadership.

He named some of the projects as the construction of a boarding high school and construction of six modern clinics among others.

Mr. Chimbinde said it is through the late President Sata that Mitete district was created from Lukulu district with the aim of taking development in the area.

The DC told ZANIS in Lukulu in an interview that the late President Sata gave the people in former Lukulu West a district status.

Mr Chimbinde has since sent his heartfelt condolences to the First Lady and the entire Sata family, the Patriotic Front Central Committee and the nation.

Meanwhile, Mitete district joined Lukulu district in the inter-denominational memorial prayer service for the late President Michael Sata held at St Columbus School hall today.

At the service there were prayers for thanks giving for the life of the late Mr Sata and praying for his family.

Others prayed for peace and praying for the leaders in the nation and songs praising the late President were sung.

The prayer service was attended by various churches in the district and the general public.
