Traditional leaders in Serenje District in Central Province have said they will remember late President Michael Sata as a great leader who was determined to develop the country.

Chiefs Chisomo, Chibale and Kabamba told ZANIS in separate interviews yesterday.

Chief Chisomo said the late President initiated a lot of developmental projects including the erection of communication towers in all the chiefdoms in the country.

He added that the late president had a great sense of perseverance and determination to take the country to a higher level.

And Chief Kabamba described President Sata’s death as a big loss to the country because he had a vision to develop the entire country without segregation.

“We have lost a gallant leader who showed love to every seed of this nation and with the zeal whose ideas were on his finger tips and wanted to develop this country but unfortunately he has died. It is up to the PF top leaders now to follow suit in whatever he was planning for this country. The bible says there are only two things on earth to be born and second to die,” Said Chief Kabamba.

Chief Kabamba who thanked the late Head of State for the construction of township roads and a Police station in Serenje said Zambia has lost a great leader who was full of love and stood on the one Zambia one Nation motto.

Meanwhile, Chief Chibale said the head of state implemented various polices in the country especially in the health, education and agriculture sectors that and this has resulted in the rapid development of the country since he assumed office.

Chief Chibale has since appealed to the nation to put everything in the hands of God and mourn the head of state with respect.

The three traditional leaders have since urged the PF members to be united and choose the successor who will continue with the development of the nation.
