Kaputa District has proposed a two days inter-denominational payers in the area to honour the late Republican President Michael Chilufya Sata.

The Heads of Departments in the area have since set Friday, November 7 and Monday November 10, 2014 as the dates for the nation prayers in memory of President Sata.

ZANIS reports that Kaputa District Administrative Officer, Alick Kampamba confirmed the development in an interview, today.

Mr. Kampamba, who chaired the meeting today, said televisions sets had been set up in a number of places for the public viewing throughout this period until Mr. Sata is put to rest.

He encouraged people to attend the prayer meetings and follow the funeral proceedings on television.

Mr. Kampamba discouraged people from flocking to Lusaka to view the President’s body saying they can see it on television adding that this will also help to reduce on congestion.

The district has also arranged to mount a tent at the grounds of Chimbamilonga Guest House where television sets for the public to follow proceedings and body viewing of the late President will be set up.

A book of condolences for the district will be opened once the district receives the special books from cabinet office for the purpose.

Zambia is in a 14 days national mourning in honour of late republican President Michael Sata who died in London last week.
