Man dies; four sustain injuries in Milenge road accident

Milenge Nov 2/14, ZANIS——–A 25-year-old man of Milishi village in chief Kasomalwela’s area in Chembe district has died while four others sustained serious injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in careered off the road and overturned.


The accident happened at the same village when a Toyota Hiace registration number ACV251 driven by Alick Nyirenda had a rear tyre
burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle before it overturned.


In a statement made available to ZANIS, Luapula Province Police Commissioner, Malcolm Mulenge, said the accident happened yesterday
around 18:00hrs at the same village and identified the deceased as Emmanuel Daka.


Mr Mulenga said Daka died at Mansa General Hospital while other passengers in the vehicle, namely Gregory Mwape, 30,Melody Chinyimba,
18, Elizabeth Musukuma, 19, and Chibesa Chama all of Chembe sustained serious injuries and are admitted to Mansa General Hospital.


The driver of the vehicle is on the run.
