—–Kaputa Patriotic Member of Parliament, Maxas Ng’onga has hailed government for releasing the draft constitution to the public.

Mr Ng’onga said the release of the draft constitution last week was the best jubilee gift to the Zambian people.

He noted that the release of draft constitution has now rendered the opposition useless as they will have nothing to campaign about.

Mr Ng’onga, who was speaking when he officiated at an Independence Cup football tournament in Kaputa over the weekend, noted that the
constitution was a big campaign issue that the opposition used to attack government.

He has since urged Kaputa residents to access the draft constitution and make necessary recommendations to the country’s supreme law.

The Kaputa law-marker said people should thoroughly check the released draft constitution to ensure that all the major clauses are included
before it is enacted.

Mr Ng’onga said copies of the draft constitution will soon be distributed to all parts of the country, adding that Kaputa will also
receive some copies through the office of the District Commissioner.

He said the District Commissioner’s office will distribute the copies of the draft constitution to key institutions, adding that others can also
go to the offices to read the constitution.

Government, on the eve of the country’s Independence Day, released the draft constitution.
