Jubilee celebration Biblical – Chilangwa

—Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Nickson Chilangwa, says a Jubilee is a Biblical celebration aimed at thanking God for his kindness, grace, good will, protection and support.

Mr Chilangwa says because of this, it is important that Zambia, as a Christian nation, should celebrate the Golden jubilee in accordance with the Biblical principle.

He said this in Kawambwa on Friday during the Golden Jubilee celebrations held at the Public Square that attracted a multitude of people.

He also said the occasion is of historic importance because it creates a moment for a deeper reflection for Zambians.

Mr Chilangwa, who is also Kawambwa Central PF Member of Parliament, added that it is also a major achievement and a moment for the people to appreciate and celebrate the gallant men and women who made great and unconditional sacrifices to liberate country.

He thanked the freedom fighters that fought for independence, saying the founding fathers and mothers declined to be bound by the chains of colonialism.

Meanwhile, Mr Chilangwa, said it is gratifying that the diverse nation of 73 ethnic groups have continued living in peace because the founding fathers and mothers believed that although the people are different, they are strong in unity and not weak if they are divided.
